[ Well, this was unexpected. Kitty was already past the whole waking up and discovering her wings part. She'd gathered her clothes and had gone well not to encounter anyone yet. This wasn't a place where she could tell whether or not she was in danger or not and that meant that she had to be careful. Extremely careful not to get caught until she could figure out where she was and how to get back to the others.

Of course it couldn't be too long until she screwed that up. It was easy for her to concentrate on her phasing, but it could get difficult when she wasn't exactly paying attention. And it was certainly hard to pay attention when you arrive in a new area without any of your teammates. Completely alone and defenseless. What a perfect target. Having a headache certainly didn't help.

Which probably explained why instead of phasing through the wall to grocery store, Kitty ended up slamming right into it. Landing onto her back, Kitty gazed up at the wall with a confused, dazed expression. ]

That wasn't supposed to happen. [ Not the most usual response for slamming into a wall. Help a girl out. ]

[ After recovering from the whole incident from before and discovering that this place was not trying to kill her. Well... not for being a mutant anyways. It was time to see if she could find someone that she knows. And maybe get some more info while she was here. ]

Then you have the shopping spree of a lifetime on your hands! That's gotta be a plus!

[ another laugh. ]

I guess. It'll make up for all the shopping I haven't been able to do.

[He looks a little more serious as he considers the implications.]

Are things rough back home?

Totally. [ Her whole demeanor tightens after that line. Obviously it's not something she wants to talk about. She'll even change the subject herself. ]

So grocery store. I should probably get some stuff while I'm here, huh?

[It's very telling. And not a good sign. He doesn't like to imagine any Kitty going through tough times. He's not sure if he wants to know what it's like for his other friends. There's a bit of uncertainty, but he ultimately accepts her diversion.]

Probably! What did you even here for? Um... [He grabs a random nearby item and holds it up with a cheesy smile.] Lentils?

[ Kitty lightens up slightly when he goes with the subject change but can't cock up a full smile when he holds up the lentils. ]

I was thinking more something less healthy and that I could actually cook. [ so the safest bet was probably... ] So bread.

[After tasting some of Kitty's dishes back home? He can imagine it. Some things must be universal.

The weight hasn't really lifted from him, but he's used to being able to grin and bear through these things. He tosses the lentils comically back where he found them.]

Make it microwavable pizza and I'm in.

[ Kitty watches him toss the the lentils back with a small scoff of laughter. ]

That does sound much better than just bread. So long as you don't mind it just being cheese pizza.

Man, no toppings at all? You're really driving a hard bargain! [And then it hits him.] That, or you're still Jewish.

[puryde]

[ She nods. ] Yup, still Jewish. So will cheese pizza work?

[wildbluevagner]

You've got yourself, a deal. Today, for you? The fuzzy man rolls kosher!

[puryde]

[ jokingly. ] Well, that makes me feel special.

Let's go see if we can find some kosher microwavable pizza.

[wildbluevagner]

Great! If we're really lucky? Kosher bagel bites! [He gently nudges at her shoulder to teleport over by the frozen foods.]

[puryde]

Uh, yeah. Totally! [ That's something she hadn't thought of. Teleporting was certainly something she wasn't quite used to again, but she doesn't mind doing it again.

However, once they do teleport, she'll give him a curious look. ] Do you walk anywhere?

[wildbluevagner]

[Maybe he was a bit too jumpy with the teleportation. Maybe for a second he forgot he wasn't with a Kitty who was used to it.]

I get a few steps in here and there. [He says with a sarcastic shrug.] Enough to keep up my manly physique, you know.

[puryde]

[ Kitty simply raised an eyebrow at the other mutant. Manly physique indeed. ]

That is important. [ she breaks off the expression with a scuff of a laugh before turning to food. ] So Kosher bagel bites.

[wildbluevagner]

Right! [He claps his hands together as he moves to check out the freezer.] Kosher bagel bites: the final frontier!

[puryde]

The final frontier? [ wasn't that from a movie or.. something. Glancing over the food, Kitty frowned. She knew that there was probably at least one type of Kosher bagel bites, but what were the chances they'd have it here. ]

Remember to look for the Kosher symbol.

You know - don't tell me you haven't seen the Star Treks! [He shakes his head.]

Right. Kosher symbol, kosher symbol... refresh my memory?

[puryde]

No. Not that I recall. [ Didn't sound like it was up her game anyways. ]

It varies, but look for a K.

Then you're going to have to be educated. [He says smugly. And he starts digging through the freezer.]

A K you say? OK!

[puryde]

[ Kitty stifled a small laugh. Educated on pop culture by Nightcrawler. Someone from back home that she'd never expect to know any of that stuff. Things certainly were... different. But then, the Nightcrawler that she had basically only known of was much older than this one. ]

It can be also be a U, Ok? [ Not that it mattered, she didn't see one. Which wasn't too surprising. You didn't really see Kosher Bagel Bites at regular stores; she wasn't even sure if there were Kosher ones. Just normal ones. ]

If U say so! [He knows so little about her older selves. But at least this Kitty is familiar enough to be comforting for him. He continues to forage around; if any compatible ones exist anywhere, he'll find it. Otherwise, they may have to settle with the original cold pizza idea.]

[ Kitty lets out a small chuckle again. This guy really was full of quite of a few jokes. One of the biggest differences between the his Kitty and Kitty at this point would be body language. Instead of peppy, much of Kitty's body language is tsnse. Keeping her arms close to her side, if not crossed against her chest.

Kitty frowns after a bit. ] I don't see any. Regular kosher pizza?

[wildbluevagner]

[He is reminded of that tension when he looks at her - it does offset that feeling of comforting familiarity a little bit, but not completely.]

Mission failure. If you say so, I guess we'll just have to settle for kosher pizza that's not also a bagel! [Now to forage for that instead.]
